Ocner, the medieval name of Yuncler

The place name comes from junko, a Mozarabic term for reed, and it was precisely Mozarabic settlers who were the first documented inhabitants of the place. The town is recorded as Ocner in documents from 1179, 1197 and 1212, and later as Yunquer, before the current form, Yuncler, became fixed.
