Ancient pilgrimage route to the monastery of Guadalupe that crosses the municipal area and is today walked as a hiking trail. As it passes through Las Ventas de Retamosa, the Camino Real de Madrid a Guadalupe lies between the towns of Casarrubios del Monte and Santa Cruz del Retamar. It is precisely here that a historic variant begins, the Camino Real de Madrid por la Cañada Real, which follows an old droving route of the Mesta through other villages before rejoining the main route at La Mata.
