Palace of los Condes de Cedillo Monument · Cedillo del Condado, La Sagra, Toledo The Palacio de los Condes de Cedillo bears witness to the county that gave the town its name. In 1487, Hernando Álvarez de Toledo, lord of Tocenaque and Manzaneque and chief accountant of the Council of the Catholic Monarchs, bought the lordship of Cedillo, and in 1496 the monarchs granted the title of Count of Cedillo to his firstborn son, Antonio Álvarez de Toledo, through a decree issued in Laredo on 3 August of that year. The title later passed, by inheritance, to the López de Ayala lineage. The building, one of the town's most notable, preserves a heraldic coat of arms on its façade.
