Cidello, the origin of the name of Cedillo

The place name is thought to derive from Cidello, possibly in connection with a Jewish physician at the court of Alfonso VI. The town received its charter of settlement in 1152 from Count Manrique de Lara and added del Condado in the municipal reform of 1916.
