Silos of La Villa de Don Fadrique

Complex of underground dwellings in La Villa de Don Fadrique, among which the Silo de Flores, the Silo de Urbano, the Silo del Conde and the Silo del Guarda stand out, conceived as a shelter for farmers and working animals during harvest tasks. Inside, stables with mangers for livestock and resting areas with a fireplace and beds for the workers could be distinguished. The Silo de Urbano, the most complex, has up to seven interior spaces and vaults reinforced with pointed ribs reminiscent of Gothic architecture. Although part of the complex is abandoned, some silos, such as the Silo del Conde, are preserved in good condition.
