The Mountain Pass That Gave the Village Its Name Curiosity · Puerto de San Vicente, La Jara, Toledo Image of Puerto de San Vicente, not of the place itself. The municipality owes its name to the mountain pass on which it sits, at 807 metres above sea level, and to the dedication to Saint Vincent Martyr. It is believed that in Visigothic times there was a church dedicated to this saint, rebuilt during the Middle Ages, which may have given rise to the settlement itself.
