The church of Santiago el Mayor in Espinoso del Rey, in the comarca of La Jara (Toledo), has a Latin-cross floor plan with three naves, the central one wider and taller than the side ones, in a style that mixes several classical models. It was remodelled in the mid-16th century, the date to which its current appearance corresponds; an older temple had previously stood on the same site, of which construction remains have been found. During the Civil War it suffered damage to altars and 17th-century images, which were later repaired.
