Church of Santiago Apóstol de Aldeanueva de Barbarroya Monument · Aldeanueva de Barbarroya, La Jara, Toledo Parish church of Aldeanueva de Barbarroya (Toledo), dedicated to Santiago Apóstol. Its fabric was built in two phases: the first, of a monumental character, began in 1514 under the direction of master builder Trujillo, in Gothic-Plateresque style, with a three-sided apse and buttresses topped with Renaissance finials shaped like balls, covered with a ribbed vault and medallions carved on the keystones; the second phase, more modest, corresponded to the western nave, closed with a simple wooden par y nudillo ceiling. The west façade, where the main door opens, is topped by a two-bay bell-gable. Photo: LBM1948 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Aldeanueva de Barbarroya
