Hombrados
Village
Hombrados is a municipality of Señorío de Molina, in Guadalajara, with 44 inhabitants (INE 2025), between 1,190 and 1,402 metres above sea level, at the foot of the sierra de los Castillejos de Zafra — where the 1,353-metre San Segundo peak stands out — and near the sierra de Caldereros. Its founding is probably placed in the repopulation of the 12th and 13th centuries. It preserves the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the hermitages of San Segundo and la Soledad, and has San Agustín as its patron saint. In 2015 the nearby castle of Zafra served as a filming location for Game of Thrones. The village, which exceeded 400 inhabitants in the 1940s, is the birthplace of the writer and theologian Diego González Chantos de Ollauri, one of the first researchers of the Celtiberian world in the province.
