Two patches of oak woodland flank the built-up area of Malaguilla to the north and southeast, beside the stream of Dueñas, just as Pascual Madoz's geographical dictionary already described in the mid-19th century, placing these oak woods in those same directions. The stream, seasonal in nature, carries water only in winter, and its waters could never be put to use owing to the shape of its bed.
