Medieval bridge of Espinosa de Henares Monument · Espinosa de Henares, La Campiña, Guadalajara Image of Espinosa de Henares, not of the place itself. A five-arch stone bridge over the río Henares, rebuilt in 1921. It is a very old structure, of medieval design and dated to around the second half of the 15th century, although an earlier Roman origin is not ruled out. The arch closest to the village served as a channel for a mill; today only one arch lets the water through, while the furthest one feeds the turbine of a flour mill upstream. Two or three kilometres downstream, the foundations and piers of an even older bridge are preserved. Photo: Diego Delso (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Espinosa de Henares
