Church of San Miguel de Alovera Monument · Alovera, La Campiña, Guadalajara The church of San Miguel de Alovera is a three-nave temple, with a tower and covered atrium, work directed between 1569 and 1587 by the master builder Nicolás de Ribero; the vault was not completed until 1690. The main altarpiece, in 17th-century classicist mannerism, is the work of the González brothers (Juan, Pedro and Francisco) and shows Christ crucified at the top, with the tabernacle and an image of San Miguel at the centre. A secondary altarpiece, dedicated to San Gregorio, the work of disciples of Juan de Borgoña and Juan Correa de Vivar, brings together eight panels of 70 by 70 centimetres on the life of the Virgin and the childhood of Christ. In the sacristy is kept a painting of the Pietà, in Flemish mannerism attributed to Willem Key, from the mid-16th century, with ceiling paintings by Rafael Pedrós.
