16th-century Square of Poyatos Monument · Poyatos, Serranía Alta, Cuenca 16th-century main square forming the core of the conjunto histórico (a protection designation for urban and monumental heritage) of Poyatos, in the Serranía Alta of Cuenca, largely the fruit of the drive of the local bishop Miguel Muñoz. Notable there are the town hall, with a façade of four cylindrical columns and a wide wooden balcony, and the parish church of Santa María Magdalena, which mixes Gothic and Renaissance styles. Nearby are preserved a tower of the old town wall and the Arco del Concejo, a symbolic entrance to the village. Photo: Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons (CC BY-SA) What to see and do in Poyatos
