The Old Brotherhood of the Conception Curiosity · Puebla del Salvador, La Manchuela Conquense, Cuenca Confraternity based in the parish church of the Transfiguración del Señor, in Puebla del Salvador (Cuenca), founded in 1600 by the venerable Bartolomé Ximénez. It holds its processional outing every 15 August in honour of María Santísima de la Concepción, a devotion rooted in the village since its late repopulation between the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 16th, when the original settlement was organised around a temple dedicated to the Purísima. Local tradition links this devotion to the passing of Emperor Charles V, who spent the night in the town on 19 December 1542 on the way to Madrid together with his son Philip II, and it is said that the monarchs prayed before the village's image of the Purísima Concepción.
