Gascas, the village under the reservoir

The riverside hamlet of Gascas was submerged when the Alarcón reservoir was built. Since 2010, its former residents have commemorated it on the first Saturday of August in Olmedilla, with a tribute that began with the unveiling of a monolith that same year. The ruins of the village, which belong to the municipal territory of Olmedilla, become visible when the water level of the reservoir drops.
