The festivities of the Virgen de la Estrella are held in El Herrumblar (Cuenca) on 8 and 9 September, since time immemorial at grape-harvest time. On 8 September a processional parade takes place through the streets of the village, preceded by a floral offering in which the whole community takes part. On the 9th the procession goes from the church to the local cooperative, where the Ladies of the festivities offer a basket of grapes freshly cut from the vineyards and a tasting of local wines is served, in an event known as the Honorary Treading. The Queens of the festivities and the town band also take part.
