Shrine of la Virgen de la Loma Monument · Campillo de Altobuey, La Manchuela Conquense, Cuenca The sanctuary of the Virgen de la Loma, a former convent of San Agustín and a Baroque building from the early 18th century, stands on the spot where, according to tradition, the Virgin appeared to a traveller, which is why the building was erected in honour of this Marian devotion venerated in Campillo de Altobuey (Cuenca). Its feast day is celebrated on 8 September, the date until which the image remains in the sanctuary during the novena period, after being brought from the parish church of San Andrés, located in the town centre, where it resides for the rest of the year owing to the sanctuary's distance from the town.
