The 1804 earthquake

In April 1804 an earthquake caused two hillsides to collapse, blocking the course of the stream that runs through the municipality of Vindel; residents found the next morning that the streambed had stopped flowing. That same year an epidemic reduced the population from 128 to 35 households.
