Sites of Los Balasanes and La Tejera Monument · Guadalmez, Valle de Alcudia, Ciudad Real Image of Guadalmez, not of the place itself. The archaeological sites of Los Balasanes and La Tejera are located in the municipality of Guadalmez, in the Valle de Alcudia. At Los Balasanes ruins with a Roman and Visigothic presence are preserved, while at La Tejera remains of a Roman-era villa have come to light. Close to both, on the slope of the Cerro Abulagar, lies the site of La Calera, from the caliphal period, where a bowl with epigraphic decoration bearing the inscription Al Malik ('the king') was found, belonging to the royal workshops of the Medina Azahara period, from the 10th century.
