Holy Saturday: the burning of dolls Activity · Alamillo, Valle de Alcudia, Ciudad Real Image of Alamillo, not of the place itself. Holy Saturday ritual in which effigies are burned and Judas is tossed in a blanket, considered Alamillo's most important popular tradition. It is an agrarian ritual mixing the pagan and the religious, symbolising the end of winter and the resurgence of life in spring; the dolls are stuffed with firecrackers that go off during the burning.
