Towers of Xoray Monument · Villamanrique, Campo de Montiel, Ciudad Real Image of Villamanrique, not of the place itself. Remains of the Islamic fortress of Eznavejor, located about three kilometres from Villamanrique on the road towards Torre de Juan Abad, popularly known as the Torres de Xoray or Joray. The fortress was abandoned in 1213, a year after the Christian victory at the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, and Francisco de Quevedo immortalised it in a poem that begins: Son las torres de Joray.
