Way of the Cross of Carrizosa

The Way of the Cross of Carrizosa runs past fourteen crosses set on the façades of houses throughout the village, in the Campo de Montiel area of Ciudad Real province. The residents themselves look after and decorate each of the crosses throughout the year. On the afternoon and evening of 2 May the full route is opened to the public, and various local groups sing traditional coplas at each station as the streets are walked, in a celebration that turns the devotional route into a living element of the town's urban landscape.
