Celebration of the Cruces de Mayo (May Crosses) in Carrizosa, with crosses decorated by the residents and communal events over three days, from 2 to 4 May. The crosses, set up as altars in houses, are adorned with flowers and plant elements together with symbols of the Passion such as nails and crowns of thorns, and are lit on the 2nd at three in the afternoon. That same afternoon a street Way of the Cross with fourteen stations is opened to the public, followed by groups singing coplas to the Cross, and during the three days it is customary to offer refreshments to those who visit the crosses. The tradition, of pagan origin as a spring festival and later Christianised in honour of the Passion, is preserved in Carrizosa with all its traditional flavour.
