Archaeological site of Oreto y Zuqueca Nature · Granátula de Calatrava, Campo de Calatrava, Ciudad Real This site, with remains from the Iberian, Roman, Visigothic and Arab periods, lies about four kilometres south of Granátula de Calatrava, beside the Jabalón river and around the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Oreto y Zuqueca, from which it takes its name; the complex is dominated by a 13th-century Romanesque hermitage. It includes a Visigothic necropolis and Islamic baths considered the oldest dated ones on the Iberian Peninsula. Its location, beside the river and surrounded by low hills, once made it easier to communicate with the Andalusian region. It can be visited with a guide on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from ten until a quarter to twelve in the morning.
