Navas de Jorquera, a town since 1663 Curiosity · Navas de Jorquera, La Manchuela, Albacete Image of Navas de Jorquera, not of the place itself. Navas de Jorquera, in La Manchuela (Albacete), belonged to the State of Jorquera, a territory granted by Alfonso X that later passed to the Marquisate of Villena between the 14th and 15th centuries. On 31 August 1663 King Philip IV granted the place the title of town by royal charter, although its definitive municipal independence did not come until 1833, with the creation of the province of Albacete, when the village joined the judicial district of Casas-Ibáñez.
