Piedra del Mediodía

The Piedra del Mediodía is a distinctive crag in the municipality of Carcelén, in the Albacete region of La Manchuela. Every 23 August the feast of Los Montones is celebrated there: at nightfall three piles of firewood are lit atop the crag, and then the participants descend the slope carrying torches to light the way back to the village.
