Local authorities described Los Llanos de Aridane as the municipality hardest hit by the 2021 eruption. In the settlement of Todoque, the lava flows completely destroyed the church of San Pío X and the health centre, and forced the evacuation of the area's schools, whose pupils were relocated to the town centre.
