The Valle de Agaete, on the Los Berrazales estates, is home to the only Arabica coffee plantation grown commercially in Spain and in the European Union, with evidence of cultivation since the 19th century and an annual output of around 1,500 kilos. It is, together with São Jorge in the Azores, one of the few places in Europe where coffee grows.
