Cuatro Puertas Historical milestone · Telde, Gran Canaria - Área Metropolitana, Las Palmas Aboriginal site excavated on the Montaña Bermeja, with a large almogarén (ceremonial space) with four artificial entrances through which, at the solstices, sunlight falls on cup marks carved into the ground. It is often compared to Risco Caído for its astronomical function, but it is not part of the 2019 UNESCO World Heritage declaration, which is limited to Artenara, Tejeda, Gáldar and Agaete. Photo: H.
