A lighthouse built between 1953 and 1954 on a 200-metre cliff near Las Playitas, first lit on the night of 3 December 1954. Designed by the architect Carlos Alcón with a U-shaped plan and three square towers, its architectural design is unlike any other in the whole Canary archipelago, and it marked the east coast between the lighthouses of Puerto del Rosario and Morro Jable.
