Church of Morata de Jalón Monument · Morata de Jalón, Valdejalón, Zaragoza Image of Morata de Jalón, not of the place itself. The church of Santa Ana of Morata de Jalón, from the 17th century, is attached to the palace of the counts of Argillo, built between 1672 and 1676. It is a Baroque building whose facade preserves a sundial, and whose tower combines a square lower section in rubble masonry with an octagonal upper section in brick. When the palace was built, the already existing church was remodelled to integrate it into the complex, so that liturgical services could be followed from the count's residence itself.
