What to see and do in Malón

Malón
Village
Malón is a municipality in the comarca of Tarazona y el Moncayo, in the province of Zaragoza, bordering Navarre to the north, 92 kilometres from the provincial capital. It lies at 430 metres above sea level, on 5.66 km² irrigated by the Queiles, where peaches, apricots and cherries are grown alongside winter vegetables such as borage and cardoon, which supply the markets of Tarazona and the Ebro valley. It has 474 inhabitants, compared with close to 720 in the mid-19th century. Neolithic remains have been found in its castle; it was a place coveted by Navarrese, Muslims and Aragonese until Alfonso I conquered it in 1119, although its possession remained disputed with Navarre until around 1150. It had a railway station between 1885 and 1972, on the Tudela–Tarazona line.
