Ebro Way of Saint James Activity · La Zaida, Ribera Baja del Ebro, Zaragoza Image of La Zaida, not of the place itself. The Jacobean Way of the Ebro, officially identified as ES14a, is a 452-kilometre pilgrimage route linking the villages of the Ribera Baja del Ebro and the Bajo Aragón-Caspe with the Way of St James. It starts at San Carlos de la Rápita, next to the mouth of the Ebro in Tarragona, and follows the river upstream largely along the route of the GR-99 as far as Logroño, where it connects with the French Way. It largely follows the old Roman road Ab Asturica Terracone, which became a pilgrimage route from the mid-12th century, after the Christian reconquest of Zaragoza in 1118 and of Tortosa in 1149. It crosses Tarragona, Aragon, Navarre and La Rioja over flat, well-signposted terrain, suitable for cycling. Photo: Diego Delso (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in La Zaida
