The riverside woodlands of Torres de Berrellén, in the Ribera Alta del Ebro, are made up of poplar groves, willows and tamarisks arranged in bands parallel to the current; they are of great environmental value as wildlife refuges and for their role in the river's hydraulic dynamics, in a stretch of the Ebro known for its escarpments and whirlpools.
