The huerta (market-garden area) of the Ribera Alta del Ebro extends over the floodplain formed by this river as it passes through the Zaragoza district of the same name, between Alagón and Gallur, in the municipality of Pedrola. The economy of the district has traditionally relied on this irrigated farmland, located between the Ebro and its tributary the Jalón, although in recent decades industry has gained weight, with the Opel plant in the neighbouring Figueruelas.
