Mudéjar Tower of Utebo Monument · Utebo, Comarca Central, Zaragoza The Mudéjar tower of the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Utebo, built in 1544 entirely of brick with gypsum mortar, following the building tradition of Aragonese Mudéjar in the Ebro valley, is one of the most notable in Aragón and an emblematic example of the survival of this style. It ends in a spire that translates the Gothic pinnacles of the period into the Mudéjar tradition, and its fame was such that it was reproduced at the Pueblo Español de Barcelona.
