Church of Luna Monument · Luna, Cinco Villas, Zaragoza Parish church of Santiago y San Miguel, in Luna (Zaragoza), built in Romanesque style in the 12th century with well-squared, good-quality ashlar. It has a single-nave plan with a semicircular apse facing east and a crypt beneath the presbytery; it is covered with a barrel vault and pointed arches divided into four bays. Notable is the corbel decoration, with figures of two musicians, one with a small organistrum and the other with a tambourine, a contortionist and an eagle beside the apse, as well as a chequered frieze of the jaqués type. The western portico opens with three archivolts; in the 17th century side chapels, a sacristy and a raised choir were added. It was declared a Monumento Nacional (former Spanish heritage protection designation, now Bien de Interés Cultural) on 20 July 1974. Photo: Grosasm (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Luna
