Mountain range of Herrera

A sierra located between the comarcas of Campo de Daroca and Jiloca, straddling the provinces of Zaragoza and Teruel, within the Iberian System. At its highest point stands a sanctuary dedicated to the Virgen de la Sierra, whose first structures date from the 16th century, although what survives is from the 17th and 18th centuries; it is reached from Herrera de los Navarros by a short-distance footpath. The sierra forms part, together with the sierras of Águila, Peco, Pajaranca and Castellanos, of an area protected as a Site of Community Importance within the Natura 2000 Network, under the name Alto Huerva-Sierra de Herrera.
