From Templars to Hospitallers in Ambel

With the Order of the Temple dissolved, Ambel passed in 1308 to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, within the Castellany of Amposta. The Hospitallers remodelled the castle as the palace of the commandery and administered the seigneury until the disentailment.
