Mountain range of Vicort (vertiente Aranda)

The Sierra de Vicort, part of the Aragonese branch of the Iberian System, extends for more than 25 kilometres between El Frasno and Codos; on its Aranda slope it separates the valley of the same name from that of Calatayud, with important forest masses over the municipality of Sestrica. Its highest point is the Pico del Rayo, at 1427 metres, and its slopes combine holm oaks and pines with Mediterranean scrub, gorse heathland and thyme scrub with seasonal pastures, habitat of wild boar and roe deer, game species of the area.
