Church of Valjunquera Monument · Valjunquera, Matarraña, Teruel Parish church of San Miguel de Valjunquera, in the Matarraña area of the province of Teruel, whose first stone was laid on 7 March 1734 and which was completed in 1747, after thirteen years of building work. It is an 18th-century Baroque building typical of the Bajo Aragón, with a hall-church plan of three naves of equal height; in the transept, aligned with the rest of the structure, a double cruciform pillar stands out, continuing with a fragment of a large entablature and a small pillar. The town preserves remains of its old wall from the Calatrava period and three Iberian archaeological sites within its municipality. Photo: The original uploader was Carlos L´H at Spanish Wikipedia.
