Protohistoric settlement of San Cristóbal Historical milestone · Mazaleón, Matarraña, Teruel Image of Mazaleón, not of the place itself. The Cerro de San Cristóbal, in Mazaleón, was occupied from the 7th century BC by a protohistoric settlement predating Iberian culture, with aligned dwellings, a walled enclosure and a nearby necropolis. The town's name comes from the Arabic manzil al-ayun, 'inn of the springs', a legacy of the valley's Andalusi period. siglo VII a. C.
