La Portellada celebrates its patronal festivities in honor of San Cosme and San Damián on 27 September and San Miguel on the 29th. It was a district of La Fresneda until a concord signed in Calanda on 27 October 1783 and a royal charter of 1784 recognized its independence; its current name was fixed in the 1916 municipal reform.
