Historic-Artistic Ensemble of La Fresneda

The historic-artistic ensemble of La Fresneda is the old town of this municipality in the province of Teruel, with its arcaded square and Renaissance lonja (exchange hall), considered one of the most beautiful villages of the Matarraña. Among its buildings, notable examples include the town hall, from the 16th century; the parish church of Santa María la Mayor or Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, from the 16th and 17th centuries; and the palacio de la Encomienda, also from the 16th century. The calle Mayor preserves arcades and porches that give the ensemble its porticoed character.
