Traditional olive oil mills of the Matarraña Curiosity · Cretas, Matarraña, Teruel Image of Cretas, not of the place itself. The entire traditional economy of the villages of the Matarraña revolved for centuries around olive growing and oil extraction, and each locality had several mills devoted to this work. According to data gathered for 1950, the Matarraña Valley then had 55 oil mills in operation, three of them in Arens de Lledó; today they have disappeared or are unusable, although the olive tree, together with the almond and the vine, remains one of the region's main crops.
