Ports de Beceite Nature · Beceite, Matarraña, Teruel The Puertos de Beceite, also called the puertos de Tortosa-Beceite, are a mountain massif straddling the provinces of Tarragona, Teruel and Castellón, at the meeting point between the Catalan Pre-Coastal range and the Iberian System, of great scenic value. Its ravines and limestone outcrops, typical of karst relief, are home to pine forests, oak woods, holm oak woods and a beech forest declared a partial nature reserve. It shelters the largest colony of Iberian ibex on the peninsula, as well as badgers, genets, otters and birds of prey such as the griffon vulture and the golden eagle. Its highest peak is monte Caro, at 1,441 metres, the highest point in the province of Tarragona. Photo: Xvazquez (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Beceite
