Paper and playing-card factories

Between the 18th and 20th centuries the waters of the Matarraña, in Beceite, powered as many as six paper mills that produced quality paper, cardboard and playing cards; from here came the paper that supplied the Heraclio Fournier company. The closure of the last factories in the early 1970s emptied the town.
