Almond from the dryland slopes

Alongside the olive grove, the almond is the traditional crop of the slopes of the district, on the edge of the Puertos. The almond is used in home-made turrones and guirlaches and in the crushed pastes that thicken the lamb and game stews proper to mountain cooking.
