The festival of Samper de Calanda, part of the Ruta del Tambor y el Bombo del Bajo Aragón, has its central moment during Holy Week. On Holy Thursday afternoon the Blessed Sacrament is moved to the altar, and on Holy Friday afternoon two very solemn acts take place: the lowering of the Cristo de la Cama, an articulated carving unique on the route, and the following procession of the Holy Burial, accompanied by the constant roll of drums and bombos.
