The church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is the parish church of Leciñena, home to one of the oldest traditional dances of the Monegros comarca. It is a 16th-century work in Gothic-Renaissance style, built in finely worked ashlar stone under the direction of the master builder Miguel de Altué. It has a three-nave plan and a polygonal apse, and a brick bell tower raised in three construction phases. Every 15 March, on the occasion of the feast of the Venida de la Virgen, popular dances such as the seguidillas and “el dance” are performed beside it.
